Knotted Collection
Rik ten Velden started his knotted collection with a visit to the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam. There he received a crash course in knotting techniques used on ships from two senior craftsmen. He knotted for three months to perfect his technique. For the Knotted lamp and the Femme Chair seating only a single rope is used. The forms reflect the maritime inspiration of the knotted collection.
